Bianca Spata



Bianca Spata
Senior Associate,
Allen & Overy

Location: Sydney

Bianca specialises in securitisation, including residential mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities in domestic, US and European markets.

She has experience acting for all participants involved in securitisations including originators, issuers, trustees and investors.

Bianca also has experience acting for a number of issuers on their unsecured domestic and EMTN programmes and in “plain vanilla” capital markets issues and more recently, for Australian issuers, in connection with the establishment of global covered bond programmes.


David Chisholm



David Chisholm
Mortgage Specialist,
Bloomberg L.P.

Location: Sydney

David has over 15 years experience in banking and finance, covering structured finance, mortgages, financial engineering, risk management, financial modelling and data management.

With a focus on Bloomberg's mortgage market product, David’s responsibilities include client liaison and analytic support, assisting the sales team, product development and the general promotion of Bloomberg's capabilities in the mortgage market.

Across a variety of banking, advisory and issuer roles, David has been involved in developing and managing a diverse range of transactions, funding structures and analytic products, often focusing on unusual, innovative or complex structures, or higher-risk assets.


Gary Sly



Gary Sly
Executive Director,

Location: Sydney

Gary joined ANZ in 2002 with over 25 years experience in banking, including over 20 years in the capital markets. Gary is part of a dynamic team that has responsibility for securitisation solutions for bank clients across private (warehousing) and public issuance funding.

He has experience across a range of collateral types in various jurisdictions, including Australia, the US, UK and NZ. Prior to joining ANZ, Gary had various roles as an issuer and originator with Colonial State bank, CBA and Credit Suisse.

Gary is an active member of the ASF through committee membership (such as the Education Sub-Committee and the Market Standards and Practices Sub-Committee) and lecturing. His natural lecturing style is energetic with a strong focus, combining detailed technical understanding with practical examples drawn from extensive market experience.


Geoffrey Cooper

Geoffrey Cooper
Associate Director,
Structured Capital Markets, ANZ

Location: Sydney

Geoffrey works in the Structured Capital Markets team at ANZ where his clients cover the residential mortgage, asset backed and trade receivable sectors.

He has experience in originating and arranging warehouse and term transactions across all major asset classes for financial institutions and major corporates.

Prior to ANZ Geoffrey worked at Babcock & Brown (originating securitisation and leasing assets for a Singapore listed debt fund) and Societe Generale (arranging securitisation and structured credit transactions).


Heather Baister

Heather Baister
Partner, Deloitte

Location: Sydney

Heather has worked for Deloitte for 15 years in the Sydney, New York and London offices. She has extensive experience of working with financial institutions and banks over this period, focusing on securitisation, structured finance, covered bonds, originating and servicing clients for both audits and advisory projects and focuses in particular on specialist lending institutions.

Heather is a Partner in the Audit and Advisory Group specialising in securitisation, structured finance and retail banking, including the introduction of securitisation issuance, credit origination and management, application of cashflow waterfalls and servicing of assets.

Heather sits on the ASF’s Education Sub-Committee, and presents the accounting and tax components of our education offerings.


Jamie Taylor

Jamie specialises in securitisation, including residential mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities in the domestic, US and European markets. Jamie has experience acting for all participants involved in securitisations including originators, issuers, trustees and investors. 


Karolina Popic

Karolina Popic
Partner, Allen & Overy

Location: Sydney

Karolina is a capital markets lawyer and her expertise spans across the entire debt capital markets, specialising in securitisation and covered bonds. 

She has significant experience across residential mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities in domestic, US (both SEC-registered and Rule 144A offerings) and Euro markets, acting for all participants involved including originators, issuers, trustees and investors. 

Karolina has extensive experience across a range of asset classes, acting for purchasers and sellers of pools of receivables (including securitised receivables) and securitised products.


Natalie Edwards

Natalie Edwards
Credit Director,
Financial Institutions Group,
NAB

Location: Sydney

Natalie has extensive experience in the banking and finance sectors, with a structured finance and risk management focus. She has over 10 years exposure to the securitisation industry both domestically and offshore.

She has extensive experience in structuring, originating, analysing and executing RMBS, ABS, CMBS, ABCP and whole business securitisation transactions across a variety of asset classes and jurisdictions.

Natalie is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


Robert Camilleri

Rob Camilleri
Co-Founder and Investment Manager,
Realm Investment House

Location: Melbourne

With over 20 years of market experience, Robert is well known and regarded in the domestic financial markets where he has held senior fund management positions. Robert has also chaired and sat on a number of peak industry committees and task forces. 

As a Senior Manager, Credit for Aviva Investors, Robert was also a key input to the management of $3.5 billion in debt assets, and liaised with the equities team in the management of $6 billion of assets in this sector. 

Robert has a strong grass roots understanding of the market, with embedded relationships across issuers, regulators and other market participants. Robert's key strength is in asset discovery and bottom up credit assessment. This has underpinned Robert's approach as a fixed income money manager.


Stephen Maher

Stephen Maher
Head of Debt Markets Analysis,
Macquarie Bank

Location: Sydney

Stephen has worked in the Australian debt capital markets for more than 25 years, covering many facets of the market including asset investment and portfolio management, liability portfolio management, fixed interest investment analysis and research, debt capital markets sales and origination, and investor business development.

Stephen is very active in promoting Australian securitisation assets to Australian and offshore investors, particularly in Asia and Europe, through research, investor conferences and issuer and research road shows. 

In addition to his work at Macquarie, Stephen is actively engaged by government and industry bodies and other industry service providers on a range of matters to support the development of the Australian securitisation market.
