Course overview

The ASF’s Securitisation Applied Program is a two-day course designed for those working in the securitisation industry and who wish to enhance their practical skills and knowledge of structuring transactions and cash flow modelling.

As the final course in the ASF’s professional development program, the course includes an in-depth focus on the technology of securitisation structuring through the development of modelling and credit risk analysis techniques.

Course objectives

  • Apply securitisation industry standards to ensure information on deals and transactions is consistent and reliable
  • Interpret emerging trends and reforms and assess their likely impact on the securitisation markets both domestically and internationally
  • Assess/analyse the key factors that impact on the success or otherwise of a securitisation transaction
  • Understand types of structures, the associated cashflows and observe the demonstration of a cashflow waterfall model
  • Critically analyse cashflow waterfall models, deal structures and transactions and communicate recommendations to relevant parties
  • Understand and apply the principles learnt in a case study of a real securitisation transaction and provide effective recommendations to determine the appropriateness of a securitisation product
