To provide greater transparency of loan repayment deferrals at the industry level, APRA has announced it will publish the aggregated data of loan repayment deferrals from all Australian ADIs, excluding foreign branches.
As at 30 June, the data indicates that $274 billion worth of loans have been granted temporary repayment deferrals, (~10% of total loans outstanding). Housing loans make up the majority of total loans granted repayment deferrals with small business loans havinghigher incidence of repayment deferral (17% of loans subject to repayment deferral, compared with 11% of housing loans).
