JFSA guidance on capital requirements

Japan's Financial Services Agency has published final guidance on the regulatory capital requirements for securitisation investors.

The guidance adds (i) a set of due diligence and information collection requirements for investments by 'covered Japanese institutions' in securitisations, and (ii) a risk retention rule for such investments.

The new regulations take effect on 31 March 2019.
