Submission to Treasury on ABS Fund

In November 2018 the Treasurer announced the formation of the Australian Business Securitisation Fund to improve access to finance for small business.

The Fund will be administered by the Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM), and will invest up to $2 billion in the securitisation market, providing significant additional funding to smaller banks and non-bank lenders to on-lend to small businesses on more competitive terms.

The ASF held a series of roundtable discussions with Treasury and AOFM in December and has submitted its comments on the proposed legislation, explanatory memorandum and investment mandate to Treasury.
